Kelly Cook • Camp Director
Kelly Cook, a former standout Patriot League student-athlete herself, was named head women’s soccer coach at Bucknell on March 24, 2015. In just her second year as a head coach, she helped the Bison return to championship glory, and then the team repeated as Patriot League champions in 2017.
Cook has wasted little time impacting the Bison program in her first two seasons in Lewisburg. In her very first season as a head coach in 2015, she guided the team to a 6-1-2 Patriot League record (11-6-3 overall), a first-round bye in the Patriot League Tournament and an appearance in the championship game for the first time since 2007. The Bison set team records for shutouts (11), consecutive shutouts (6) and scoreless minutes (655:03) while going unbeaten in eight-straight contests.
Cook was named Patriot League Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year in 2015, becoming the first Bucknell coach to receive the award since 2001. She also coached six players voted onto All-Patriot League teams.
DAVID MADSEN • Assistant Camp Director
David Madsen joined the Bison in May 2015 after spending five years as an assistant at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. During Madsen's tenure at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the Panthers won four straight Horizon League championships and made four NCAA Tournament appearances from 2010-13. In 2011, the squad defeated Illinois State in the first round to mark the first NCAA Tournament victory in program history.
Among his myriad of duties at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Madsen served as the team's goalkeepers coach. His top goalkeeper in 2011, Jamie Forbes, posted 11 shutouts and was named the Horizon League Goalkeeper of the Year and Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Most recently, keeper Paige Lincicum was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team in 2013.
In his three seasons as assistant coach, Madsen has helped the Bison compile a 39-17-5 record, including a 21-4-2 mark in the Patriot League. Madsen is part of a coaching staff that earned NSCAA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2016, helping Bucknell capture the league championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005. The Bison repeated as league champs and made a second straight NCAA appearance in 2017.
RILEY PIECHNICK • Assistant Camp Director
Riley Piechnick, a former Patriot League student-athlete who has spent the last two years on the coaching staff at Gettysburg College, was named an assistant coach with the Bucknell women’s soccer team in February 2018.
Piechnick is a 2016 graduate of Loyola University Maryland, where she was a Dean’s List student while majoring in business administration with a specialization in marketing. Piechnick was also a three-year starting defender for the Greyhounds. She helped Loyola to a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship in 2012, before the Greyhounds moved into the Patriot League the following season. In 2015, she was part of a Loyola squad that advanced to the Patriot League Tournament semifinals.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Piechnick was a four-time selection to the Patriot League or MAAC Academic Honor Roll, and she was also inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society. In addition, she was a four-year Student-Athlete Advisory Committee member.
